Description-  An adult usually weighs in between 22-55kgs. Striped hyenas are  usually 60-80 cm at height.They are usually 85-130cm in length. Striped hyena colors are golden yellow with black stripes.


Classification-The striped hyenas are omnivorous scavengers.They are mammals.They belong to the Hyaenidae family.The striped hyena is a nocturnal animal but sometimes are early up in the morning.


Location-It is native to northern africa and india.They are found in open savannas and grassland.At about one year,cubs begin to follow their mother on their hunting scavenging forays.


Dynamics-Striped hyenas live for 12 years in the wild but unknown for captivity.They are near threatened which means they aren’t endangered but there aren’t a lot.They’re decreasing in their population.The female striped hyenas are usually pregnant for up to 90-91 days.Most of the time the hyena’s laugh shows sign of attack and aggression.Striped hyenas are usually smaller than the brown hyena and the spotted hyena.
